Since its inception in 1990, ElderCircle has developed new programs and services to help meet the needs of older residents in Itasca County and to enable them to remain independent. ElderCircle partners with other agencies and networks to accomplish its mission.

In addition, ElderCircle depends on the community to support its programs with their hearts, hands, and donations.

By caring for an elderly neighbor, helping in a classroom, delivering groceries, providing transportation, or being a companion, volunteers foster a culture of service, citizenship and responsibility for generations to come.

Since 1990 there has been a growing awareness of the aging population in Itasca County. In addition, the 2000 U.S. Census indicated that 22 percent of Itasca County's population was over 60. This figure has steadily increased, putting the Itasca County senior population above the average in the nation, state, and region. Based on this knowledge, ElderCircle was created with the support of grants and County funding.

ElderCircle helps people, who wish to volunteer, find a volunteer opportunity that suits them. Contact the ElderCircle RSVP office to explore the possibilities.
